| After having attended dance and theatre courses in Spain
and France, in 1993 Fura starts her career as a trapeze artiste
in Paris. A disciple of Josephine Maistre, Zoè, trapeze
artiste of the now disappeared Circo Aligre, she decides to
devote herself to the work and creation of movement in the
air.
In 1995 she moves to Montreal (Canada), to be trained by
Andrè Simard in the Swinging Trapeze technique. This
Canadian instructor is the creator of the Les Gens d'R in
Montreal and trainer of the aerial shows in the Cirque du
Soleil.
In 1996 Fura returns to Paris and starts working at the Romanesque
Bouglione Circus. Later on, she comes back to Barcelona and
meets other circus professionals of her country.
It is then when she creates the fixed trapeze show 'Angel
Heart', and a year later, 'Fourteen', a choreography on vertical
cloths. Both shows have been performed at several theatre,
circus and dance festivals around Europe, the USA, and Asia.
In 2002 she gives her first performance of Solve et Coagula
(Azoth) in Barcelona, a synthesis work gathering both technical
knowledge and a personal creative process about movement in
the air.
This same year Fura starts collaboration with the Catalonian
company 'La Fura del Baus' in 'Fantastic Symphony', directed
by the company member Pep Gatell.
Fura's work has been awarded twice, in 1998 as best show
in Cognac (France), and in 2002 in Barcelona with the prize
Aplaudiments Sebastià Gasch.
